We are 3 younger guys that have a passion for deer hunting just like you. We are hard-core bow hunters with a passion for mature bucks & management. We created this website to share our experiences with you, hear about yours, help each other out and make our “Hunting World” a better place through conservation, management, land improvements and deer management. Our Website – www.thedeerhunt.com – is meant to be almost commercial free (we do support Truscent.com which directs you to that site and have some farms – but otherwise no financial gain & not the focus of this website) and we have no $ to make here. We do not make any money on seed, good products we recommend, our advice, hunting products, etc, etc. Our motives are pure and we simply want to pass on anything we can so our hunting community continues to help each other.
We also feel God gave us this great earth and these wonderful places outdoors to leave better than we found them. OUR ADVICE: We simply want to pass on our knowledge & our experience on improving the land to all of you. We want your farms to be better- whether you own them OR the land owner will let you make them better. We are not full-fledged Agronomy experts BUT feel we have more than enough experience to help a guy get started with anything on the farm. It could be: getting apple trees going, planting a clover plot, buying a new farm, enrolling in CRP, planting native grasses, government programs, and improving the timber or whatever. We’ve been there and know how overwhelming it is. I’ve worked with and learned from the experts in all of these areas: Apple Tree experts, Native Grass Experts, Foresters, my friend Paul Knox (wow- he really has done it all!), Phil Stark who is a grass, flower & tree pro, etc, etc. Starting 10 years ago, I worked with these folks, picked their brains, tried it all on my own and now feel like I want to pass on all I’ve learned and all of my experiences with conservation, farming, food plots, timber management, mature buck management, etc. I’m still learning and I don’t think I’ll ever quit learning. We also know how many other information sources have hidden motives on the products they recommend- WE DON’T! Almost everyone out there wants to sell you the “best seed” or “secret mix” with a deer picture on it because they make $ on it. We’ve tried it all and know we can give you the solid truth on what will work. If I endorse a product that works well- it’s because we love it, feel it’s better, has a great price, etc – we do NOT make one penny off these products though! Our site, experiences, knowledge, discussions, etc are not one big commercial like a lot of things out there.
We also love to grow, support and get that lucky shot at Mature Bucks. We love it and we’re not ashamed to say that we love to hunt fully mature bucks. We DO NOT push this on others and we respect WHATEVER FULFILLS YOU IN YOUR HUNTING EXPERIENCE. We are the 1st to admit that beyond what we do above, we love to get that crack at an old giant buck! We love to see others do the same and would love to contribute anything to others to help them do the same. We also love to learn from others with their success. We love giving a kid an opportunity to hunt, improving the land, balancing the deer herd, GROWING MATURE BUCKS & chasing them later, leaving our areas better than we found them, etc. We’re proud of that.
